What it takes

It’s the only place in Alamance County that takes tires, some paint, brush, and construction debris. The Alamance County Convenience Center takes appliances, mattresses, electronics, used motor oil, some batteries, and some household hazardous waste.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Alamance County rules

  • Big loads of household trash, construction debris, yard waste, tires, and metal cross the landfill scales during scale hours only, at $44 a ton for most loads ($5 minimum). The scales take cash, cards, and checks.
  • The landfill and convenience center take waste from Alamance County only.
