What it takes
It’s one of four Catawba County convenience centers that take used motor oil. The Blackburn Landfill takes tires, paint, electronics, brush, construction debris, some batteries, and some household hazardous waste. The Rocky Ford Road Convenience Center and the Blackburn Landfill take appliances.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Catawba County rules
- The convenience centers charge $2 a bag for household garbage, $20 for a small pickup load (6-foot bed or less), and $30 for a large one (up to 8 feet); bigger loads go to the landfill. Bag all household garbage. Recycling is free.
