What it takes
Chatham County’s other 11 convenience centers take the same items. The Solid Waste & Recycling Main Facility takes brush and some household hazardous waste.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Chatham County rules
- Only Chatham County residents with a current decal can use the collection centers; show it every visit. Town residents must pay the county solid waste fee to get one. No business waste, which includes builders, rental properties, farms, and home businesses. Each household may visit twice a day, up to 15 minutes each time.
- A household may bring one pickup-truck load (120 cubic feet: 8 by 5 feet, 3 feet high) to the collection centers in any 7 days and signs a form for it. Bring the rest a week later or take it to a transfer station or landfill.
