What it takes

It’s the only place in Lenoir County that takes tires, electronics, brush, construction debris, and batteries.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Lenoir County rules

  • The landfill has separate areas for household trash (the transfer station), construction and demolition debris, and land-clearing debris such as stumps, limbs, leaves, and grass, plus areas for appliances, metal, car batteries, electronics, motor oil and filters, pallets, and tires.
  • Neither the landfill nor the convenience sites take oyster shells, antifreeze, cooking oil, hazardous waste, herbicides, poisons, seafood, loads of dead animals, liquids, medical waste, or ashes.
