Pender County rules
- The convenience centers are for residents of unincorporated Pender County, who pay a $200 yearly solid waste fee on the property tax bill; town residents use their town’s service. The county is moving from windshield stickers to occasional ID checks, so carry your driver’s license. No business waste or business recycling.Pender County’s convenience center pages still say you need a solid waste decal on your windshield.
- Once a day, a household can bring up to 200 pounds of construction debris or bulky items such as couches and mattresses to the Rocky Point, Burgaw, or Willard center or the transfer station, free; they go in the C&D containers. Heavier loads go to the transfer station at $78 a ton. The Montague center is closed until further notice.
