What it takes
It’s the only place in Wayne County that takes tires, appliances, brush, construction debris, and some batteries. The Dudley Recycling & Convenience Center takes some household hazardous waste.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Wayne County rules
- The $50 yearly household solid waste fee on your tax bill pays for dropping off household trash at the landfill and convenience centers. It doesn’t cover construction debris, yard waste, or unsorted trash, which the landfill charges $45 a ton for ($5 minimum).
- The landfill takes cash, checks, and Visa or MasterCard (cards add $2 or 3.25%, whichever is more). Recycled items, such as metal and appliances, are free.
