Davidson County convenience centers and dump hours

Middle Tennessee, on Central time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers four convenience centers. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Seven recycling drop-off sites take household recycling only. The ones at WeGo Bellevue Park and Ride, Joelton Middle School, Lakewood City Hall, McGavock High School, and Whites Creek High School are open 24 hours; Hillsboro High School’s is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (5 p.m. in winter), and William Whitfield Park’s on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Convenience centers

  • Bring a Tennessee driver’s license showing that you live in Davidson County, and unload your own material. No commercial waste, and no commercial vehicles: no commercial tags or commercial advertising of any kind.
  • One visit a day can bring 3 bags of trash (bagged, 30 gallons or smaller) and 1 bulky item free, not counting mattresses, tires on rims, or construction material. Anything else is $10 for less than a cubic yard, no higher than the truck bed, or $20 a cubic yard from 1 to 8 cubic yards. No trailers over 12 feet, and no cargo vans or trailers at Anderson Lane.
  • The centers take cash (except at Omohundro), checks, and credit or debit cards. Cards carry a 2.8% fee of at least $1.95.
  • The centers don’t take brush or leaves, ammunition, asbestos, brick, concrete, dirt, rock, roofing shingles, siding, car parts other than tires, gas tanks, fireworks, flares, medical waste, pallets, or railroad ties, among other things.
