What it takes

It’s one of 11 Roane County convenience centers that take used motor oil. The Roane County Recycling Hub takes tires, mattresses, electronics, brush, and construction debris. The Post Oak Convenience Center takes some paint.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

  • Only waste generated in Roane County is accepted.
  • The convenience centers are for households only. No commercial or business waste.
  • No hazardous waste, medical waste, or dead animals.
  • Some things the convenience centers don’t take are accepted at the Recycling Hub in Harriman, including furniture and other large items ($45 per ton). Call 865-590-7779 with questions.
