Washington County convenience centers and dump hours

East Tennessee, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers five convenience centers and two recycling centers. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • The county’s page also lists the Iris Glen Landfill, 423-926-8375, open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 7 to 11 a.m. It doesn’t give the address or say who may use it.

Convenience centers

  • There’s no charge for household trash and recyclables at the convenience centers.
  • Household garbage must be bagged, up to 20 bags per vehicle per day. Loose garbage in a truck bed or trailer isn’t accepted.
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before closing time to be sure you’re served.
  • The centers don’t take construction or demolition materials, business waste (including waste from rental property), or radioactive, liquid, or medical waste. Attendants can refuse any load.
