Brevard County rules
- Brevard County households can bring up to 25 gallons (about 220 pounds) of household hazardous waste a year free to the three collection centers, in containers of 5 gallons or less; staff hand back your fuel and oil cans. Bring a driver’s license, tax bill, or utility bill. The Cocoa and Sarno centers run a free Drop and Swap shelf of usable products.
- Every Brevard County property pays a disposal assessment on its tax bill for the county’s landfills; unincorporated homes also pay for curbside collection.
