What it takes
It’s the only place in Highlands County that takes paint, electronics, used motor oil, and household hazardous waste. The Highlands County Solid Waste Management Center takes tires, appliances, brush, and construction debris.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Highlands County rules
- Florida Waste Solutions collects garbage in unincorporated Highlands County, with yard waste and bulk items on alternate weeks, up to 2 cubic yards each; mattresses must be wrapped in plastic, and construction debris isn’t collected. Call 863-655-0005 for curbside pickup of appliances and up to six tires.
