What it takes
It’s the only place in Hillsborough County that takes some construction debris. The Northwest County Solid Waste Facility and the South County Solid Waste Facility take brush.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Hillsborough County rules
- Tampa and Temple Terrace residents can bring household hazardous waste, paint, and electronics to the county’s sites free with a driver’s license showing their city address; for other trash, they use their city’s service (Tampa’s McKay Bay scale house, 813-274-8811; Temple Terrace, 813-506-6570). New Tampa is on county service. Plant City residents use their city’s options for bulky waste, appliances, and tires.
- The landfill is mainly for haulers and self-unloading vehicles. Standard rates are $148 a ton for burnable trash and $109 for non-burnable waste such as concrete; pay by card or cash, with a 30% deposit on cards.
