Marion County rules
- Marion County has no county curbside pickup. Its 18 recycling centers are for unincorporated residents, who pay for them through the yearly solid waste assessment. People who live in the county’s cities or outside the county can buy a yearly Non-Assessed Permit in person at 5601 SE 66th St., Ocala: $215 for city residents, $268.75 from outside the county, starting each Oct. 1 and prorated after. Businesses can’t use the centers.
- Bring proof of residency if asked, secure your load, and unload it yourself; up to 180 gallons of household garbage a day. The centers turn away commercial vehicles, including wrapped, branded, or commercially tagged ones, and don’t take ammunition, asbestos, brick, car parts other than tires, chain-link, concrete, construction debris, dirt, fireworks, masonry, medical waste, or pallets. Hog Valley and Lake George take household garbage and recycling only.
