Okaloosa County dump hours

West Florida, on Central time

This page covers the Baker Landfill and North Transfer Station, the South Okaloosa County Transfer Station, the Wright Yard Waste Facility, and two hazardous waste drop-offs. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Waste Management collects garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste at the curb in unincorporated Okaloosa County’s franchise areas (850-301-2822). Bulk pickup takes furniture, appliances, electronics, bicycles, drained push mowers, and up to 4 tires without rims, 20 inches or smaller, up to 4 cubic yards a pickup; the cities run their own service.

Landfills

  • The county’s transfer station scale rates, effective Oct. 1, 2023: $75.62 a ton for residential garbage from outside the franchise areas, $58.93 a ton for yard waste, $125 a ton for tires, and $3 at least a trip.
  • The Baker Landfill and the Wright Yard Waste Facility take no construction and demolition debris, stumps, root balls, land clearing debris, metal, or plastic bags, tarps, or film. Tree trimmings can be up to 14 inches across and 10 to 12 feet long, and treated lumber has to be kept out of other trash.
  • Anyone can drop off household recyclables at the South Okaloosa County Transfer Station and at the Baker site.
