What it takes
It’s the only place in Pinellas County that takes tires. The Household Hazardous Waste Center takes paint, used motor oil, some batteries, and household hazardous waste.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Pinellas County rules
- Cars pay a flat $4.25 a load, and pickups and vans $11.75. Anything bigger, or towing a trailer, pays $63.57 a ton, with a deposit of 35% of the loaded weight held on your card until you weigh out. Waste from outside the county pays a $63.57-a-ton surcharge on top. Pay by card or tap to pay.
- The county requires personal protective equipment at the complex and sells kits (safety helmet, eye protection, and high-visibility vest) for $22.50.
- The complex turns away vehicles and campers, hazardous waste, gasoline and fuel oil, liquids, explosives, and medical or radioactive waste. Residents take household chemicals and fuel to the HHW Center.
