Chatham County dump hours

Southeast Georgia, on Eastern time

This page covers four recycling centers. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Chatham County doesn’t collect household garbage or recycling: residents in unincorporated areas subscribe with a private hauler. The county collects yard waste weekly and bulky items monthly at the curb.

Recycling centers

  • The drop-off centers take sorted recyclables, scrap metal, yard waste (in kraft paper bags or reusable containers, never plastic bags), and bulky items, but no household garbage, tires, car batteries, liquids, unsolidified paint, hazardous chemicals, land clearing, stumps, or debris from a full demolition or major renovation. Sort before you come: loads are inspected. Free mulch is there for the taking.
