Cobb County rules
- At the county transfer station, Cobb County residents pay a $14 minimum for the first 400 pounds of household waste or construction debris, then 3 cents a pound; others pay $70 a ton, $70 minimum. A valid Georgia driver’s license is the only proof of residence accepted. GFL Environmental runs the station for the county.
- Keep Cobb Beautiful’s partner, the WestRock self drop-off recycling center (1775 County Services Parkway, Marietta, 678-403-3900, across from the Cobb & Douglas Public Health building), takes clean cartons, cans, glass bottles and jars, paper, cardboard, and No. 1 to 7 plastics free. Kennesaw and Smyrna run glass drop-offs too.
- Keep Cobb Beautiful holds free community recycling events for Cobb County residents that take electronics (old tube TVs and monitors $10 cash), appliances and other metal, textiles, and paper for shredding; it lists upcoming dates on its events page.
