Coffee County convenience centers and dump hours
Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers the Douglas Junk Drop-Off. The Douglas Junk Drop-Off is run by the City of Douglas Public Works, not the county. Its hours aren’t posted, so call ahead. The rules that apply are below.
What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more
Before you go
- Coffee County Solid Waste bills for garbage collection. The county’s pages post no drop-off site of its own.
- In the City of Douglas, Ryland Environmental picks up trash carts Monday through Thursday under contract with the city since July 1, 2026, and the city’s Public Works Department picks up yard debris weekly, but not debris from land clearing or trees a contractor cut. Call Public Works at 912-389-3450.
- Each April, normally the fourth week, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1011 Shirley Avenue, the City of Douglas holds Spring Junk Free Week, when city residents can bring large non-hazardous household items free, and Tire Amnesty Week, up to 4 tires each free.
Convenience centers
- The City of Douglas’s junk drop-off days are for city residents only, with proof of residency such as a utility bill; no landlords or businesses. Bring up to two loads (a full pickup bed or two utility trailers) of furniture, appliances with the fluids drained, TVs, and other large household items, and unload anything that isn’t on a trailer. No hazardous chemicals, tires, or construction materials.
