DeKalb County rules
- Seminole Road Landfill weighs every load: a minimum of $16.50 up to 250 pounds, rising in steps to $83.53 up to 1,999 pounds, then $99.80 a ton for construction debris, yard trimmings, and tree parts ($100 a ton for municipal waste). Appliances with Freon are $50.40 each.
- DeKalb County garbage customers can request a curbside pickup of bulky items (furniture, mattresses, appliances, toilets) online, by email, or at 404-294-2900; fees apply, and items must be at the curb before you ask. Construction debris, large tree parts, and big piles are a paid special collection ($115 minimum).
- Free glass recycling containers for DeKalb residents are at Brook Run Park (4698 Barclay Drive, Dunwoody), Exchange Park Recreation Center (2771 Columbia Drive, Decatur), Brookhaven Police Headquarters (1793 Briarwood Road), Stonecrest Library (3123 Klondike Road, Lithonia), Medlock Park (874 Gaylemont Circle, Decatur), and Seminole Road Landfill.
