Gilmer County convenience centers and dump hours
Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers seven convenience centers and the Tower Road Landfill Scale House. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.
Convenience centers
- The convenience centers take exact change only. They don’t take bulk items or construction and demolition waste, which go to the landfill scale house on Tower Road.
- Recycling is free in the compactors at the Cartecay, Coosawattee, and Tower Road centers: paper, cardboard (pizza boxes free of food), steel and aluminum cans, and plastics #1 through #7. No glass.
