What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more
Before you go
- The Recycle Center takes recyclables only, no trash. Henry County doesn’t collect garbage, yard debris, or recycling: residents outside city limits hire a private hauler. The county lists private transfer stations and landfills that take trash for a fee, among them Stockbridge Transfer Station (447 M.L.K. Senior Heritage Trail, Stockbridge, 770-506-0016) and ADM Transfer Station (124 East Main Street, Hampton, 404-790-7169).
Recycling centers
- Besides glass, cans, No. 1 and 2 plastics, cardboard, and paper, the Recycle Center takes car batteries, motor oil and cooking oil, scrap metal and appliances, furniture ($20 a piece), mattresses, and yard debris. Flatten cardboard and take it to the baler under the green shelter. It doesn’t take tires, dishwashers, Styrofoam, paint, or construction debris.
