It’s the only place in Muscogee County that takes appliances and mattresses.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Muscogee County rules
- Pine Grove Landfill takes waste only from Muscogee County residents: bring ID or a water bill, and contractors must show where the job is. Loads can’t be mixed or sorted on site, so bring household garbage, construction debris, and green waste as separate loads. It takes cash, checks, and cards. Arrive at least 30 minutes before closing, or 90 minutes for a large load.
- At Pine Grove, household garbage, construction debris, and concrete, dirt, and rock are $85 a ton; limbs, stumps, and other organic waste $76.50 a ton; metal $102.50 a ton. Granite Bluff Inert Landfill takes grass clippings, leaves, soil, rocks, bricks, concrete without rebar, and cured asphalt from Columbus only, at $76.50 a ton. Neither takes railroad ties.
- Recycling drop-off trailers are at the Georgia Welcome Center (1751 Williams Road), Cooper Creek Park (4816 Milgen Road), the Recycling Center (8001 Pine Grove Way), and Victory Drive (25 22nd Avenue, across from Carl Gregory). Columbus recycling takes plastics, cardboard, paper, and aluminum and steel cans, but not glass, batteries, tires, or plastic bags.
- City garbage customers get bulky items and large yard waste piles picked up by calling 311 (706-653-4000) for a scheduled pickup. Construction and demolition debris isn’t picked up at the curb: take it to Pine Grove Landfill.
