What it takes

The Grady Road Landfill takes tires and construction debris. The Baldwin Cut Convenience Center and the Canal Street Convenience Center take electronics.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Polk County rules

  • Polk County’s six staffed convenience centers are for county residents’ household waste; commercial waste isn’t allowed. Every center has recycling bins for cardboard, aluminum, and paper.
  • No convenience center takes scrap lumber, carpet, tires, or building materials. Take them to the county’s Grady Road Landfill.
