How to get rid of old paint in Cumberland County

Oil-based paint and stains go to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 923 Wilkes Road, Fayetteville, which is open only the second Saturday of each month (8 a.m. to noon) and the fourth Wednesday (noon to 4 p.m.). Latex paint isn’t accepted: let it dry out with kitty litter, sand, or dirt, then put the can in the trash with the lid off.
