Lee County convenience centers and dump hours

North Central North Carolina, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers six convenience centers and the Resource Management Facility Yard Waste Area. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Convenience centers

  • Lee County’s six convenience centers are for residents outside the City of Sanford and the Town of Broadway, and every vehicle needs a valid solid waste decal (two per home, mailed in June). No business, industrial, or institutional waste; no loitering or scavenging.
  • The convenience centers don’t take construction debris, tires, fluorescent bulbs, latex paint, yard waste, stumps, propane tanks, hazardous or medical waste, or dead animals. Tanks and drums need holes, and drums need their ends cut out. The Resource Management Facility on Landfill Road takes tires, latex paint, fluorescent bulbs, and yard waste.
