What it takes
It’s the only place in Lee County that takes tires and some paint. The Resource Management Facility Yard Waste Area takes brush.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Lee County rules
- Lee County’s six convenience centers are for residents outside the City of Sanford and the Town of Broadway, and every vehicle needs a valid solid waste decal (two per home, mailed in June). No business, industrial, or institutional waste; no loitering or scavenging.
- The convenience centers don’t take construction debris, tires, fluorescent bulbs, latex paint, yard waste, stumps, propane tanks, hazardous or medical waste, or dead animals. Tanks and drums need holes, and drums need their ends cut out. The Resource Management Facility on Landfill Road takes tires, latex paint, fluorescent bulbs, and yard waste.
