What it takes
It’s the only place in Rockingham County that takes tires, appliances, electronics, used motor oil, and some batteries. The Rockingham County Landfill takes some paint and construction debris.

Rockingham County rules
- Rockingham County’s only drop-off is the convenience center at the landfill; Waste Management offers curbside recycling everywhere in the county (336-573-1618).
- Household trash in a car or pickup costs $14 a load. Vehicles with six or more wheels, or with a trailer, pay by weight: $43.14 a ton plus the $2 state tax. An uncovered or untied load costs $10.76 more.Rockingham County’s landfill page says an uncovered or untied load costs $10 more.
