What it takes
Watauga County’s other nine convenience centers take the same items. The Watauga County Transfer Station takes tires, appliances, electronics, brush, construction debris, and used motor oil.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Watauga County rules
- Watauga County’s 10 staffed convenience centers take only bagged household trash in the dumpsters, plus recycling: glass, flattened cardboard, plastics #1-7 with lids, and paper. Bulky items and anything that won’t fit in a standard trash bag go to the transfer station. Household batteries and compact fluorescent bulbs go in the bins at each attendant’s building.
