Charleston County convenience centers and dump hours

Lowcountry South Carolina, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers seven convenience centers, the Bees Ferry Landfill, and the Signal Point Road Convenience Center. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Thirteen unstaffed recycling dropsites around the county take paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and containers, cans, and glass from residents and businesses. The county’s recycling page lists them.

Convenience centers

  • Charleston County’s convenience centers are for county residents’ household waste. Show a government-issued photo ID with a Charleston County address, or a utility or tax bill with a county address and a matching photo ID. Businesses can use only the recycling bins, and contractors can’t use the centers.
  • Double-axle trailers, box trucks, and moving vans need an appointment ahead of time. Call 843-720-7111.
