What it takes

The Household Hazardous Waste Facility takes paint and household hazardous waste.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Georgetown County rules

  • Georgetown County’s 15 staffed convenience centers are for county residents only. Keep yard trimmings and recycling out of plastic bags: a contaminated bin goes to the landfill whole.
  • Swap shops at the Landfill, Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet, and Pleasant Hill centers let county residents leave or take clean, usable items such as toys, mattresses, clothes, shoes, and electronics. Call 843-545-3443 for the rules.
