What it takes
It’s the only place in Greenville County that takes construction debris.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Greenville County rules
- At Twin Chimneys Landfill, residents’ household waste is free. Construction debris is $5 a cubic yard ($15 for shingles, sheetrock, dirt, and railroad ties), and yard and brush waste is $3 a cubic yard. Shingles have to go to the landfill, and so do commercial haulers.
- Unstaffed recycling boxes for plastic bottles and jugs, cans, cardboard, and paper are open around the clock at Blue Ridge High School (2151 Fews Chapel Rd., Greer, behind the school), Conestee Park (840 Mauldin Rd.), McAlister Square (225 S. Pleasantburg Dr., behind the county election office), Woodside Park (110 Woodside Park Dr., Simpsonville), and Trailblazer Park (301 Trailblazer Dr., Travelers Rest). The City of Greenville’s recycling centers at 514 Rutherford Rd. and 800 E. Stone Ave. are open daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
