Wilson County convenience centers and dump hours
Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers seven convenience centers and the Wilson County Landfill. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.
Convenience centers
- One visit a day, with up to 10 bags of household garbage plus one of these: 2 pieces of furniture (a couch and a chair), 2 appliances, one 8x10 carpet or rug, 5 pieces of lumber, 20 shingles, 2 boxes of other items for the open-top dumpster, or 5 pieces of metal or tin. The attendant may send a bigger load to the landfill.
- No box trucks or U-Hauls, enclosed trailers, partial loads, commercial loads, or scavenging.
- The centers don’t take tires or car parts, paint, hazardous waste, yard waste (limbs or grass), or fireworks.
- Every center takes cardboard, aluminum, tin and other metal, refrigerators and freezers, batteries, plastic milk jugs and soda bottles (#1 and #2, loose, not in bags), and carpet padding for recycling.
