What it takes
Wilson County’s other six convenience centers take the same items. The Wilson County Landfill takes tires, some paint, electronics, brush, construction debris, and some household hazardous waste.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Wilson County rules
- One visit a day, with up to 10 bags of household garbage plus one of these: 2 pieces of furniture (a couch and a chair), 2 appliances, one 8x10 carpet or rug, 5 pieces of lumber, 20 shingles, 2 boxes of other items for the open-top dumpster, or 5 pieces of metal or tin. The attendant may send a bigger load to the landfill.
- No box trucks or U-Hauls, enclosed trailers, partial loads, commercial loads, or scavenging.
- The centers don’t take tires or car parts, paint, hazardous waste, yard waste (limbs or grass), or fireworks.
- Every center takes cardboard, aluminum, tin and other metal, refrigerators and freezers, batteries, plastic milk jugs and soda bottles (#1 and #2, loose, not in bags), and carpet padding for recycling.
