Chesterfield County convenience centers and dump hours

Richmond District, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers two convenience centers. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

Convenience centers

  • The convenience centers are for Chesterfield County residents, who should bring ID or proof of residency, and for small contractors registered with the county for work at a county home. Since July 1, 2026, household trash and yard debris cost $9 a pickup load and $18 with a trailer up to 10 feet; recycling is free. Cards and bills up to $50 are taken, but not coins.
  • No dump trucks at either center. Power take-off dump units and leaf box trucks can’t use the Northern Area center.
