What it takes

It’s the only place in Frederick County that takes appliances, mattresses, some paint, some electronics, brush, construction debris, and some household hazardous waste. The Frederick County Regional Landfill takes tires.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Frederick County rules

  • The convenience sites are for Frederick County taxpayers; new residents with out-of-area tags may need a permission letter from the county. Clarke County residents may also use the Double Tollgate, Stephenson, and Greenwood sites. Bagged household trash goes to any site, free; bulky items go to the landfill citizens’ center.
