What it takes

Brevard County’s other landfill takes the same items. The Central Disposal Facility Household Hazardous Waste Center and the Sarno Household Hazardous Waste Center take electronics.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Brevard County rules

  • The Central Disposal Facility in Cocoa takes household garbage and debris. At Sarno, the landfill takes construction debris, tires, appliances, and yard waste, and the transfer station takes household garbage and cardboard only. The Titusville Transfer Station takes household garbage only. None of them takes batteries, hazardous waste, propane tanks, or containers over 20 gallons; electronics go to the household hazardous waste centers.
  • Every Brevard County property pays a disposal assessment on its tax bill for the county’s landfills; unincorporated homes also pay for curbside collection.
