Charlotte County dump hours

Southwest Florida, on Eastern time

This page covers the Charlotte County Landfill and two transfer stations. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Homes that pay the county’s sanitation fee get up to 4 cubic yards of bulky items and refuse a week at the curb, plus 10 bundles or bags of yard waste. Appliances (four times a year, free) and electronics are picked up by request: use the county’s online request form, or call Waste Management at 941-629-1106 (941-697-0012 in Englewood) two days ahead. Motor oil, oil filters, and car batteries go out on your collection day, 5 feet from the carts.

Landfills

  • The landfill charges $49.88 a ton ($5 minimum) for waste from the county and $99.74 a ton ($17 minimum) for waste from outside it; tile, dirt, gravel, pavers, and small pieces of concrete without rebar are free. Visa or Mastercard only, no cash. Boats (drained, with the gas tank out) and special handling items come only 7 to 11 a.m. or 2 to 3:30 p.m., and wide loads aren’t taken for now.
