What it takes
It’s one of two Clay County convenience centers that take brush. The Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility takes paint, electronics, and household hazardous waste.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Clay County rules
- The four Environmental Convenience Centers are for Clay County residents, but not those of Penney Farms, and the attendant may ask for proof of residency. Each day, up to 1.5 cubic yards free, about one pickup load: ten 32-gallon containers of waste, one large piece of furniture, one appliance (with the door removed), up to 1 cubic yard of construction debris and carpet in pieces under 4 feet and 50 pounds, and 5 gallons of cooking or motor oil in sealed containers. No dirt, rock, concrete, asphalt, roofing, car parts, or burned material; bigger loads go to Rosemary Hill.
- FCC Environmental Services collects garbage and yard waste once a week (904-490-9996) and picks up bulk items on call, up to two large items or 3 cubic yards, once a month per household. Extra bags outside the cart need a $5 overflow sticker, sold at county libraries.
