What it takes
It’s one of three Collier County recycling centers that take brush and construction debris. The Collier County Landfill and the Immokalee Transfer Station take tires.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Collier County rules
- The recycling drop-off centers take household hazardous waste, electronics, batteries, paint, oil, metal, and recyclables free from residents, and yard waste, household bulk items, and construction debris for $15 a cubic yard, 1 cubic yard at most (not at North Collier). Tires go to the landfill or the Immokalee Transfer Station.
- County curbside customers can put bulky items up to 4 feet and 50 pounds out on recycling day. Appliances, electronics, and up to four tires and two car batteries a month are picked up only when you call 239-252-2380 at least 48 hours ahead.
- The Carnestown Recycling Drop-Off Center, 31201 Tamiami Trail E., opens only the second Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and doesn’t take light bulbs or sharps.
