What it takes

The Collier County Landfill and the Immokalee Transfer Station take tires.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Collier County rules

  • The recycling drop-off centers take household hazardous waste, electronics, batteries, paint, oil, metal, and recyclables free from residents, and yard waste, household bulk items, and construction debris for $15 a cubic yard, 1 cubic yard at most (not at North Collier). Tires go to the landfill or the Immokalee Transfer Station.
  • County curbside customers can put bulky items up to 4 feet and 50 pounds out on recycling day. Appliances, electronics, and up to four tires and two car batteries a month are picked up only when you call 239-252-2380 at least 48 hours ahead.
  • The Carnestown Recycling Drop-Off Center, 31201 Tamiami Trail E., opens only the second Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and doesn’t take light bulbs or sharps.
