What it takes

It’s the only place in Lee County that takes paint, electronics, used motor oil, batteries, and household hazardous waste. The Resource Recovery Facility Citizen Drop-Off takes tires, some appliances, some mattresses, brush, and construction debris.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Lee County rules

  • Lee County’s facilities don’t take garbage or debris from outside the county.
  • Couches, mattresses, hot tubs, fence sections, and large appliances can go to the curb next to your regular garbage; if an item won’t fit in the truck, the hauler sends another within three business days. Remove or tape shut the doors of refrigerators, freezers, washers, and dryers first.
  • Household chemicals never go in a dumpster, at the curb, or in the garbage; bring them to Topaz Court or a collection event, free for residents. Small appliances, keyboards and mice, empty paint cans, dried paint, and tires can go out with the garbage.
