What it takes

It’s the only place in Santa Rosa County that takes electronics and batteries. The Santa Rosa County Central Landfill and the Jay Transfer Station take tires and construction debris. The Santa Rosa County Central Landfill takes appliances, some mattresses, and brush.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Santa Rosa County rules

  • The Household Hazardous Waste Center takes residents’ household waste free, per carload: up to 25 fluorescent bulbs, 15 gallons of paint, stain, and solvents combined, and 10 gallons each of oil, gasoline, and antifreeze a week, which you pour out yourself (staff help on request). Photo ID required; no business drop-offs. Recycled paint is given away free while it lasts.
  • Since March 1, 2025, unincorporated Santa Rosa County has no franchise hauler, so each home arranges its own garbage service with Adam’s Sanitation (850-537-3282) or Waste Pro of Florida (850-365-1900), the two permitted providers. Gulf Breeze, Milton, and Jay run their own pickup.
