What it takes

It’s the only place in Seminole County that takes appliances and construction debris. The Household Hazardous Waste Tunnel takes paint, batteries, and household hazardous waste. The Central Transfer Station takes electronics.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Seminole County rules

  • The Central Transfer Station and the landfill charge residents $41.63 a ton for household garbage and yard waste in a covered load (tarped and secured), and twice that uncovered. Passenger tires are $3.16 each. Household hazardous waste and electronics are free for Seminole County residents, cities included. The landfill takes cash and credit cards, though its card connection is sometimes down.
  • Unincorporated Seminole County homes can schedule bulk pickup of appliances, furniture, and debris from minor household repairs with their hauler: Waste Pro (407-774-0800) in service areas 1 and 3, Waste Management (407-464-0664) in area 2. Anything bulk pickup won’t take goes to the landfill or the Central Transfer Station.
  • Whole boats can go to the landfill by appointment after an inspection, with the fuel, battery, fluids, flares, and wiring removed; they pay standard tipping fees by weight.
