Volusia County dump hours

East Central Florida, on Eastern time

This page covers the Tomoka Landfill and the West Volusia Transfer Station. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

Before you go

County curbside customers can put out up to four bulky items a week with the regular garbage: furniture, mattresses, appliances, and carpet cut and tied in bundles up to 4 by 8 feet and 60 pounds. Since Oct. 1, 2026, tire and appliance pickups have to be scheduled with Customer Service (386-943-7889).
Volusia County residents can drop off household hazardous waste free at both facilities’ household hazardous waste areas; businesses can’t. The county also holds collection days at other sites, usually in November and April.

Cars pay a flat $4 and pickups and vans $8 ($4 minimum). Bigger vehicles are weighed: $41.09 a ton for garbage and construction debris, $33.32 for yard trash, $20.55 for clean debris and household appliances, $5 to weigh your empty vehicle. Out-of-county, mixed, unsecured, and after-hours loads pay double. Cash, Mastercard, or Visa.
Keep yard waste apart from everything else, and separate land clearing debris, construction materials, appliances, and tires for drop-off. Stay within 5 feet of your vehicle, keep children and pets inside it, and don’t throw material when unloading.
