Hart County convenience centers and dump hours

Northeast Georgia, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers seven convenience centers and the Hart County Transfer Station. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Hart County is pay-as-you-throw: household trash goes to the convenience centers in the county’s special bags, sold at the centers. Larger loads and items go to the transfer station, charged by weight: $60 a ton for Hart County residents, $120 for others. Cash or check only.
  • Recycling is free at the convenience centers. The transfer station stopped taking recyclables on Jan. 12, until repairs are done.
  • Liquids, oils, gas, liquid paint, tires, and car batteries can’t be dumped. Paint is taken once it’s dried out; dry it in the can with sand or cat litter. Tires go to a separate area, for a fee.
  • Yard waste is ground into mulch, free by the 3-yard scoop.
