Jackson County convenience centers and dump hours

Northeast Georgia, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers two convenience centers and the Jackson County Transfer Station. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Jackson County doesn’t pay for garbage disposal from taxes: you pay for what you bring. Bagged household garbage (32 gallons or less) is $1 a bag at the compactor sites and the transfer station. Larger loads are weighed at the transfer station, $75 a ton with a $5 minimum.

Convenience centers

  • The two compactor sites take only bagged household garbage, paid in cash or by check. Everything else goes to the transfer station, which also takes debit and credit cards (3 percent fee on credit).
