What it takes

It’s the only place in Jackson County that takes tires, appliances, mattresses, paint, and used motor oil.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Jackson County rules

  • Jackson County doesn’t pay for garbage disposal from taxes: you pay for what you bring. Bagged household garbage (32 gallons or less) is $1 a bag at the compactor sites and the transfer station. Larger loads are weighed at the transfer station, $75 a ton with a $5 minimum.
  • Tarp your vehicle or trailer. You unload it yourself; staff help when they can.
