- Lowndes County’s six recycling centers take recyclable and non-recyclable household garbage and yard trimmings from residents’ homes, but nothing from repairing, renovating, or remodeling a building. Ask Public Works (229-671-2700, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) about what they take; the county doesn’t post their hours.
