It’s the only place in Sumter County that takes appliances.

Sumter County rules

  • Sumter County contracts out residential garbage service. Call the Board of Commissioners office, 229-928-4500, to start or stop service, get a cart, or report a problem. The county’s pages post no drop-off site of its own.
  • Amerigreen’s transfer station takes bulk trash from the public on the third Saturday of each month, $50 a ton with no minimum, including bulk items and appliances. Its scrap yard is open then too, with free recycling bins for glass, aluminum cans, and plastics.
