Union County convenience centers and dump hours

Southwest North Carolina, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers five convenience centers and the Union County Landfill. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Cover your load before you come: unsecured loads pay twice the usual fees.

Convenience centers

  • Union County residents can drop off up to 10 standard 13-gallon bags (or five bigger bags) of household garbage a day free with the Trash Pass: show a vehicle registration, ID, or utility bill, and the attendant gives you a window decal. Bigger loads go to the landfill, which charges by the load.
